U = needle under 1st big loop (U) = needle under 2nd big loop (*) O = left small loop: needle over yarn / = direction of yarn changes U = left small loop: needle under yarn - = mark U is missing: needle under yarn (U) again (*) - = mark / is missing: direction of yarn changes (*) O = needle over yarn (U) : = direction of yarn changes (*) U = needle under yarn (U) O = needle over 1st big loop O = needle over needle yarn
(*) = Egon Hansen decided to mark the phases of Åsle Stitch in this way. After all, the Åsle Stitch is not difficult to do, but the Notation seems rather confusing.
Åsle Stitch forms a thick fabric.
