Based on the written stitch description, this stitch is either Russian Stitch 2+4+1 (see Metsäpirtti 2A (link)) or Turning Stitch 2+4+tr. The video shows both possibilities.
This stitch (whether Russian or Turning) has been used in Metsäpirtti (Finnish NBA, National Nalbindin Survey 1957, K3/#? (437?)). Note that there wasn't a sample enclosed with this stitch description, so it is impossible to know to which way to turn the fifth loop behind the thumb.
This stitch (whether Russian or Turning) is a version of a simpler stitch 2+5, which also was used in Metsäpirtti, but the respondent wrote this other version, with the last loop twisted, was more popular because it was stronger and more beautiful.
Which of these two versions, then, Russian or Turning, might be the prettier one :) ?
